Monitor for a Mac Mini recommendations please

Quick question for the tech lovers of HOL... I need to get a new monitor and there are so many options I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations?

I'm a graphic designer, so not looking for the cheapest, maybe £100-£200, not sure. I've had 3 iMacs in the past, so not had a need for one, but I'm changing to a Mac Mini. It's got an HDMI port (have seem some recommending not to use this though). Other connectivity info here: [Link]

Would be really grateful if anyone could recommend a good one for me 23 / 24 inch maybe?

The latest Apple monitors are stupidly expensive £899 or £400 ish second hand. I've thought about the older Apple A1082 (no connectivity issues as it's Apple) but they were discontinued in 2008 so the ones on eBay are at least 7 years old (and still £150 ish).

Of course, it's Black Friday / Cyber Monday coming up so maybe there are some good deals out there?

Thanks very much in advance

Like you, Im a Graphic Designer and I've used a Lacie Electron 22 Blue iv for years now. Whether they're available on ebay I dont know. Like all monitors they need calibrating. The down side is they're big and heavy (none of your flatscreen rubbish with them). They're getting on a bit now (not sure if Lacie still make monitors) but they're very well respected and they're damn good monitors.

Thanks beagle. Looks like Lacie is a top spec make. They do make LED monitors too - pretty expensive though.

I'm probably looking for an LED flatscreen I think and although I'm a designer I do a lot of web design also, so not necessarily needing the best of the best.

Many thanks for the info

Quite honestly use the HDMI and plug it into any named monitor, or even a good TV set (have mine plugged into a Samsung, it's the dogs).

55" smart TV And the GF has hers plugged into a 47" Sharp TV ( use them mainly for multimedia you see) I would suggest ANY Samsung Monitor or TV as reliable.

I design for print so a high standard pre-press monitor is vital. As you do mainly web stuff then you're right, I've probably over-specced you
