Hi,

I currently have a Nokia smart 'phone provided for me by my work and whilst it allows me personal use that I repay, it blocks all access to the internet, apps, etc.

I'm not a fan of running two separate 'phones but that maybe my only option if I can't find a decent dual SIM model on which I can set up a private contract.

Problem is, that whilst there seem to be a few around, including the Samsung Galaxy 6, when you nip into the usual places to find out about availability, you get a "we don't do dual SIM models, mate".

Does anyone have any experience of these 'phones and some advice on both their ease of use and availability as well as any of their downsides?

Thanks in advance.

my other half has a moto g 2nd gen which has 2 sim slots, used it mainly in spain with a spanish payg which is cheaper then using the uk number...easy to use, the new gen 3 version doesnt have 2 sim slots anymore though..

Sometimes I set out for Ludlow
Sometimes I end up in Chepstow

I have the moto g 2nd gen. It's cheap and cheerful, does what it says in the tin

OnePlus have just released their 'X' model which is dual sim. Much superior spec.

Believe you can also get the Sony z3 in dual if you want a flagship phone.

The companies won't offer dual sim on contract. You have to buy it sim free. See, the thieving b******s don't make twice the money if you buy just the one phone on a contract.

The "usual places" downtown are tied to phone companies who do not want to sell you units at a discount to also use a 2nd SIM card.

A neighbor is very successful in using the Samsung Galaxy Duo in US, South America and Europe. The unit was purchased at an airport duty free specifically sold us GSM UNLOCKED so foreign SIM cards can be used.

In China you can even find 4-SIM card units which are sold elsewhere under several names. [Link] [Link] Sound quality is awful and app support is close to none, but they do handle 4 SIMs (for example Orange Europe, Telefonica Americas, T-Mobile US) without having to change cards.

Even if you find a good dual SIM-card unit, you company may not be happy about sharing the same unit for personal use even if you use a separate SIM because the unit will carry company data.

How to be relegated: Transfer Gayle to Bristol City.
Keep Dwight Gayle!

I had a similar carry on with trying to find a dual sim mobile.

My reasons were for travelling, but I couldn't get anywhere with finding a decent phone that had the option so in the end I just opted for getting my current phone unlocked and changed the sim cards over instead.
