Ah, I've been looking at one of these for a couple of weeks now [Link]

But I assume this thread relates to a DIY version, which sounds much cheaper???

Wouldn't bother. Not many channels ever work on it.Decent for sport I suppose if you have the right add ons but if your looking for a Sky, Virgin etc replacement you'll be disapointed.I've got Kodi installed on the laptop now purely for sport and just hook it up to the tele for Palace games.

wrong mate. and right at the same time.

initially I was pissed...can't view this or that channel.

then you realise...anything that is being shown on those channels live...is totally viewable on demand whenever you want. whether that be movie or tv show. why look out for sky Atlantic or movies stuff when you can simply watch any film whenever you want?

football's not great. not clear clear...but for free...its great. abd plus you can view Saturday 3pm games...its never go out shopping on a sat anymore. ..

I dunno when you get the streams that come from premier league pass games the streams can be the nuts, like our game against liverpool I had a 520p stream.

Just buy the box and load it on yourself it really ain't that hard and even cheaper then buying a bloated box pre loaded.
Learn how to install the repository's yourself as well as updating repos as pre load boxes don't really offer much support.
As I have said before find a M8 box with keyboard and mouse (you WILL need this) around £45 even a pre loaded one as you can wipe them to factory settings anyway and start again.

Confused as to whether all units are Chinese made, or there are Chinese copies on the market which are a bit duff. Definitely think the DIY approach is better than an expensive, bloated box
