Think all the soppy lefties on HOL have taken the last train for the coast....they'll be welcome in so many ways

I live on the coast and thankfully haven't come across any "Soppy lefties" down my way ! All very "True Blue" types in my vicinity !

Snob!!

I am unashamedly a dyed-in-the-wool Conservative.

To be honest, I don't know how you sleep at night.

Very soundly, I can assure you !

Agree with Willo. And very sound in the knowledge that New Labour/Old Labour/Loony Greens/sundry other vegetables are not now in a position to f*ck our country up again for another generation.

Enjoy your silly LaLa land, Gusset...

A party political broadcast, on behalf of the memory of the Conservative Party.

25 years ago and a mistake acknowledged at the time.

Acknowledged at the time, would have been actually been covered up for as long as possible. What about the contamination of factor x, Hillsborough, the housing boom, Black Wednesday, mass unemployment in mining towns, BCCI, David Mellor in a Chelsea shirt, cash for questions, and of course David Mellor in a Chelsea shirt....

Simple fact is, every government is equally well poised to f**k the country up, because, and here is the shocker, the government only govern the country - its actually corporations and wealth that they answer to. Me and you, we get to participate in an illusion every 1800 or so days, in which we pretend to have an influence, over the control of the nation.

They break our legs, and we say thank you when they offer us crutches.

He and his daughter were posing for the cameras - no attempt to cover up at all - none the less, clearly a mistake - and you going back 25 years again with most of the rest.

Which era, obviously there is a lot of difference between Ted Heath, Thatcher, Major and Cameron, along with the failed leaders? If you're 'dyed in the wool' I'd imagine you either hated Thatcher or Cameron

Or do you just mean, you vote Conservative, irrespective of policy?

I've NOT hated any Conservative leader. But the one I admired above others was 'Margaret Thatcher'.

I won't be lured into a Thatcher debate by any of the lefties on here as it will be the Willo of all Willo threads.

To be honest, I don't know how you sleep at night.

Ask yourself, who does more good for people or society, the man or woman who risks their own money and sets up a business which employs people or the trade union official (I.e., Red Robbo) who causes so much industrial action that a business becomes unprofitable and all the employees have to be laid off?

The question is always why its the employees who get laid off, for the failure of the owner / director to manage their business. The trade union leader is typically interested in the benefits of more than one person, rather than self motivated interests.

I don't disagree that those who own, set up and run businesses shouldn't profit, but that profit should never be at the cost of other peoples livelyhoods. How much money, after all, does one person really need?

I don't think you fully understand that most small business owners aren't sitting on vast wealth, are far more prone to interest rate rises more than their employees and, in a significant number of cases, are borrowing to keep their business alive. If you have a double mortgage on your house to keep a four manned window fitting firm in business, do you really think that at night you are deciding upon which ivory backscratcher to buy next, whilst saying 'excellent' in a Mr Burns voice and thinking about how you are milking your employees?

Or do you think they are more likely to be fretting about paying the bills, salaries and somehow keeping their heads above the water, whilst also trying to find a few things to cut back to allow their kids to go on school trips?

BTW, the trade union leader is far more interested in power than their members. There is a whole load of history about this and you know it.

Well Ted Heath and Thatcher were about as different in terms of policy, ideology and economics as it gets. Of all the conservatives leaders of my life time. I don't really see how people could see a link between the two, other than not wanting to vote for Labour.

Thatcher is also probably the one I respect the most. I hated her, with a passion - but that in its own regard is a badge of respect. Although I always admired Hessletine, great public speaker. Probably the best leader that the Conservative Party never had.

I'm not interested in small and private small scale enterprises, actually I do own two small business but that's an aside. Not enough has been done to protect small private business from the Corporate power and exploitation, either by the Conservative or Labour Party.

Small business to me, is as vital as the rights of individual workers. But you know that's not what I'm talking about. I know plenty of people who own and run small business and firms.

The corporation and big business, that's where the problems lie.

Sounds about right, the making of a great politician, egotistical arrogant, hubris hugging c**t, full of self importance and a sense of entitlement.

After all, who else would believe they were suitable to rule.

Going back 25 years, indeed, lucky then that many people aren't comparing the new Labour leader to those of the 70s and the mistakes they made.

The reality of decisions made by states, is that they tend to surface historically, rather than recently, as I'm sure people like Cyril Smith or Ted Heath could maybe attest to.
