Hi I've recently rented my spare room to an Italian couple who are working in London for two months. They both look s*** scared to go outside any advice on how to help them settle in. Much appreciated.

Remove all the interior doors, buy a big fluffy white cat,cat and walk around the house naked whilst stroking said cat. Should get them out of the house most of the time.
Why would anyone chose to be a Seagull? The Eagle is a far superior creature. The Seagull lives under it's damp pier meekly looking out, blinded by the sheer quality of the Eagle's palace. |

I tried the naked thing I think they liked it lol. But seriously if anyone has ever rented a room to foreigners I'd appreciate your advice. I feel sorry for them at the moment they act like everyone in Croydon is going to kill them.

I think I'm going to need a picture of the lady before committing to a plan of action for them. Preferably one whilst she's in the bathroom having a shower.

Have you tried asking them what they are scared of?
"You can feel the stadium jumping. The stadium is actually physically moving up and down" |

Much appreciated. Hi P.E. I've hosted quite a few foreign students (school over 16, undergraduate and post graduate up to say 30 years old - Italian, Spanish, French, Central Eastern European and Japanese)over recent years, and the usual nervous points (sorry if I'm stating the obvious with some) are 1. Language - in particular, English proficiency. Check their access to phrasebooks, and encourage them to test their English (if needed). They'll do that quite readily in my experience. They might of course be waiting for you to go out so that they can play Mummies and Daddies - you'll be the best judge of that. Good luck - my family (wife/girls) have made some good Cheers Oldfella
