I'm a bit of a leftie but even I think enough is enough and it's time to pull up the drawbridge when I see 3 posts in a row use the word 'hipsters'. I'm not sure of the exact British equivalent but can we try and maybe go for 'Ponce' in future?

That's what I love about the HOL. In order to keep each topic fresh and interesting, we always find a way to switch it to racism. Which isn't at all tedious.

I blame them pesky immigrants...

London's coolness is subsiding purely because of those North London types who seem to think all you need to do is grow a beard, live in a former slum and ride a unicycle to work to be cool and edgy rather than just an utter tw@t

Hahahha yes maybe very much. I saw some c**t wearing football boots in a bar not so long ago, it took all my restraint not to chin the c**t. Sometimes central London looks like a 'Nathen Barley' convention.

There is a bloke who walks through Canary Wharf who has the full on hipster beard but has refined his moustache in to a proper Lord Kitchener, wears clothes that I can only describe as 'John Pertwee era Dr Who' and tops it off, on occasion with a bowler hat - I simply want to kill him...

That Alan Sugar gets about doesn't he.

I see that Zac Goldsmith has joined the 14 others standing for London Mayor. With him, George Galloway, Diane Abbott and Sol Campbell running (he never used to do much of that), you can't help thinking modern London deserves what it gets.

I think if we attached the words 'its been statistically proven that 95% of all beard growers are likely to be paedos' into all manner of social media then the amount of beards in London would decline dramatically....

Throw in Piers Morgan and that sounds like the first 5 people I would bang into in the 7th circle of hell

Just spotted this line, clearly indicating the writer is past it or at least not particularly likely to have his finger on the pulse of all that is cool. I mean when the fcuk was this?

Quote Back then we all lived in central London, because we all could. It was normal to leave university and get a flat with your mates in Marylebone or Maida Vale or Primrose Hill or Notting Hill. Not because we were rich, but because London was cheap. And it felt fantastic. Here was a city whose fortunes were reviving and, as 20-somethings, ready to make our mark on the world, we really were bang in the middle of things.

And his other articles:

Keep hearing an advert for Galliad that boasts how one flat grew 200k in value by Canary Wharf in a few years up to 800k! Mind Boggling!
