Released 35 years ago today. Tis one of the only LP's I've owned that I've played all through me life.

Definitely in me top 5 albums of all time.

I missed 'Travelogue' Nick - 'Being Boiled' I guess? - but caught 'Dare' which is, without doubt, one of the finest pop albums ever.

In a fight which one would win?

They are still HUGELY popular in the USA as are Depeche Mode, probably one of the few bands apart from The Stones who can sell out a Stadium. Depeche Mode that is !!

Dare is a f***ing great album. However, the demo's are f***ing terrible, it's definitely Martin Rushent's album. That's not detracting from Oakey's songwriting.

I bought Travelogue on the back of buying Dare.(I got Dare after seeing them do Sound of the Crowd on TOTP.)and it just blew me away from the first time I heard it. It was so different to Dare - darker, more futuristic. Was no surprise to see how influential the original league were.

Travelogue wins.

The last Depeche Mode album is pretty consistent. They've still got it!
