BBC made a big thing of 1985 and the start of Eastenders last night.

But for me the highlight of TV viewing was Top of the Pops 5 years earlier.

I enjoyed every song.

The schedule was diverse.... Cliff Richard, AC/DC, The Selecter, etc.

Great time for Palace with Jim Cannon leading us.

The Selector, presumably someone who worked for Jimmy, Kitty and Gary.

You cheeky monkey!

It was only a 30 mins show last nite on the TV whereas iplayer shows the whole original show. The Nolans and Buggles were 'cut' last nite.

The Cliff Richard track 'Carrie' is easily his best effort ever with a cheeky sax solo, that I'm not afraid to say I liked.

Love the Regents track '17', but my favourites were The Selecter and the Joe Jackson track that played it out at the end.

Legs and Co were foxy!

Hoof that was a great watch, brought back so many memories. Managed to see most of the bands on there, The Tourists(Lew'sham),Boomtown Rats and The Chords(both Marquee,3 years apart), Queen(Hyde Park and Hammersmith Odeon) Selector("=Tone tour somewhere), Specials(numerous times including IIRC that live recording at The Lyceum)and of course ACDC (Wembley ,If You Want Blood Tour '79). Pretty sure that may have been the fantastic Bon Scotts last tv appearance coz he must've popped off quite soon after that! Anyways.sorry for boring you lot but as I said.the memories! Thanks again Hoof. Ollie's Dad,Ash.

That was Bon Scott's last performance Hoofy before he did what all proud Scotsmen know. That a yard of ale is merely an early in the evening chaser.

Yeah.... Ollie's dad mentioned that above!

I think the coroner's report said something like "He drank himself to death!"

He was a wild man.... RIP Bon.
