Team news

Palace manager Roy Hodgson will ponder on whether to stick with some of the fringe players that started in last week's victory over Burnley such as Wayne Hennessey and Max Meyer.

Centre back Mamadou Sakho is still recovering from knee surgery, while left back Pape Souare (shoulder) and striker Connor Wickham are both out.

Brighton midfielder Pascal Gross (hamstring) and defender Leon Balogun (shoulder) are sidelined for the visitors.

Quotes

Roy Hodgson

"We can't ask our teams any more than to work very hard and do their level best. You prepare them [the players] to give a good performance and to remind them of the importance of this game to the fans. But standing on the touchline, the atmosphere and tension at Selhurst Park is enormous whoever we play.

"For us it's a big game, it's one of the nine big games we have remaining. We do realise the importance of the occasion and to a lot of supporters, this means more than even a game against Man United.

"We have to make certain that when we go on the field, we're ready for that game and don't allow our performances to be affected by anything other than the performance we need to win the game."

Chris Hughton

"During difficult periods when you look at the opposition you are against, you have to be mindful of where we have been, and that this is only our second season [in the Premier League].

"Certainly we should not get carried away. Our form has not been as good as we would have liked of late, but I was delighted with last weekend.

"[Palace] have some very good individuals and are in good form and we know we'll have to be at our best. It's a big one for both sets of supporters. It's one they don't want to lose - speaking of our fans, they've been excellent all year. Our supporters will make themselves heard, and it's up to us to reward them for that."
