Enjoying a great '14th placed' Palace? Looking like if we have a great preseason we'll finish top six? My prediction: look forward to another 'do nothing' preseason from Parish & Co. We'll probably lose a whole bunch of stars for BIG MONEY for Parish, then we will wait, and wait, and wait, all season in the transfer window for something to happen, and I predict that IT WON'T. If Parish thinks he can survive another season without spending I believe he will, based on the last 11 years. Remember the last few games of last season? I hope I'm proved wrong, but I'm saying this in advance of it happening. As I write it's 2-0 against UTD - half time.

When OG joined Palace, Josh Harris has put it in his contract that there is a budget available for the summer transfer window (They didnt specify how much but Oliver was happy with it )and it is not dependent on the sale of players . Thought this was common knowledge , but to be honest i would be happy just keeping the team we have .

the end of season break has come at the perfect time. Glasner has begun to implement his vision, got acquainted with the players and fans, and it's had an immediate positive impact. The season will close before we enter any sort of mediocre spell of results (which let's face it will happen during any long season). So we can reset and take the confidence into next season. Given the new footballing philosophy at the club I don't think our team will suffer too much if we lose a few of our better players. We know the talent pipeline is good and we now have a manager who can improve players and the team and challenge them to achieve high levels of performance.

Predict top 10. Let's not get carried away.

This is without doubt the best Palace form I've seen in my life. Not just beating big clubs but absolutely playing them off the park. 13 points from 15 with +10 goal difference against Manchester United, Newcastle, Liverpool, West Ham and Fulham is title winning form. The 5-2 against West Ham flattered them too - could have been 9-0 on another day.

It feels like the start of something special. The interview with Olise & Eze yesterday suggested that those two love playing together and with the freedom Glasner gives them. Perhaps they feel it too and want to see out another season with us.

I'm resigned to losing Guehi for which we'll probably get around £50m. If we can use that to buy a cheaper replacement (Greaves from Hull, £15m?) and get a couple of back up options for the full backs, we'll be in fantastic shape. We don't need an active window, just need to hold onto our big guns.

There's every reason to feel optimistic right now.

I saw my first Palace game in 1962 so have pretty much seen it all. Anything is possible next season.

We sell Guehi, keep our other stars, use the money to fill out the squad with better quality in depth, kick on and have a fantastically enjoyable season.

OR

We sell our stars, don’t bring in the players Glasner wants (‘we tried but just couldn’t get them over the line’), Glasner gets the hump and walks out.

OR

Anything in between.

Thanks Badger, i weren't far out, just got to box a bit clever for next season.

As an aside Forest have had their appeal rejected.

We'll be top half and, hopefully, above Brighton. Prediction: it to go wrong for them and well for us.

At this stage I find it impossible to make predictions for next season.
Anybody remember the initial honeymoon period under Vieira with Gallagher pressing from the front and McArthur controlling the midfield.
Or that run under Hodgson at the end of last season which led many to suggest a push for Europe could be possible.
We've been here before.

At the moment there seems to be uncertainty around the futures of Olise, Eze, Guehi and Freedman ( and maybe one or ywo others).
As an older fan I've seen it unravel before when we've sold our best players.

I'm delighted to see how we're playing with both a methodology and some flair and will just enjoy the ride for as long as possible.
What seems beyond dispute is that Glasner seems to have the ability to improve players and every player seems to understand their role.
That clarity in objective is very welcome.

are you serious? I would think recent FFP Penalties would make you see Parish and co cant simply "put thier hands into thier pockets"

We are looking at more ways of generating revenue like the upcommming boxing match at selhurst and we may not like all the advertising screens at selhurst these days but its generating income.

You dont think the January signings were any show of ambition?
Glasner made it clear he has not come to Palace to tread water. He wants to win games and expects the owners to support that with players, finance and infrastructure. I have no doubt whatsoever if Glasner feels conned into accepting the job or that he accepted it under false pretenses he will pack a bag and walk.
I expect Glasner to remain in charge. I expect the club to retain most of our best players but I accept one or two may leave. There is little point trying to force someone to stay that does not want to. I would however also expect that any big departures go fo big money and that the majority of that money will be handed to the manager to reinvest.
Recent results have understandably lifted expectations but realistically, I dont think its overambitious to believe a top half finish, possibly a strong run in the cups, maybe even an outside run at the Europa league could be possible? Currently, we have the players and the manager to achieve this. Its up to everyone at the club to ensure that remains the case come kick off in August

WhT a bundle of joy you are.

I think there lies the problem with oddball, he’s not a supporter, we’re just a TV programme to him.

Why when I read this was I reminded of this quote from Red Dwarf..?

Rimmer: I used to be in the Samaritans.

Lister:I know. For one morning.

Rimmer:I couldn't take any more.

Lister:I don't blame you. You spoke to five people and they all committed suicide. I wouldn't mind, but one was a wrong number! He only phoned up for the cricket scores!

Rimmer:Well, it's not my fault everyone chose that day to jump out of buildings! It made the papers, you know. "Lemming Sunday," they called it.

The trouble with computers, of course, is that they're very sophisticated idiots

That seems far too funny for red dwarf
