This side misses Doucoure. I have always preferred a hard working midfield above all else; Doucoure partnered with Wharton and I think we will be getting somewhere.
Out the dead wood and the sicknotes, get (if possible) £50m for the likes of Edouard and Eze etc, and reinvest sensibly, building a TEAM.

Only comfort from last night is Forest beat a good Fulham side easily at home but at least we made them look ordinary last Saturday. Not much I know but desperate to find any positives at the moment.

No wins in 8 games against Luton, Forest, Everton and Bournemouth.

Haven't won a game 1-0 since September, which is a big problem for a team that can't score twice.

Another goal conceded in the final 15, yet again demonstrating the same problems.

Our performances are groundhog day, as are the outcomes.

Still furious about RH bringing on Olise at Brighton. Add Olise to our last few games and we'd be safe.

At this rate we're going to have to beat one of West Ham, Newcastle or Man U to keep above water.

I think people forget that Glasner was supposed to take over at the end of the season but due to Roy's health/poor performances took over earlier, the problem is Johnstone, Guehi, Holding, Richards, Doucoure, Olise, Franca and Rak-Sakyi where not available last night, the players that were available are, mostly, not up to standard and i think no decent formation could be put out with them, i would think Glasner hoped he would start his first game with a new squad of his choosing, as it is only Olise looks like he could be back soon, but don't make Roy's mistake of bring him back to quickly, if he and Eze stay fit for the last six games we will get 2/3 wins, i am confident with Glasner and as robdave2k said, end of September is the time to judge him.

“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn

Glasner is learning about our players on the job. If he is smart enough and I hope he is he will realise what they are capable of and what tactics he can play with the squad he has.

As others have said the time to judge him will be next season after the transfer window has closed.

Ozoh needs to go out on loan next season, I am not convinced he is the right player for Glasner. He reminds me of Jairo a big guy but not very mobile. I assume Glasner will be looking to add pace to our midfield and up front.

The overall squad is not of sufficient strength in terms of quality and depth and this has been apparent for a while.

When important players, in that already limited squad, are missing through injury IE Johnstone, Guehi, Doucoure, Olise, not forgetting that Eze and Olise's appearances together have been limited, it is little wonder that results are less than impressive.
To my mind, Bournemouth and Nottm Forest our recent opponents have more depth in their squads than us.

We were the biggest spenders in January window, so thats just not correct.
This season has been blighted by injuries to key players, there is no disguising it.

One January doesn't make a squad. What we have is one which following a few injuries looks fit for relegation. We've successfully progressed from being reliant upon one player to being reliant upon two, so when without both, we are seemingly incapable of scoring. No goals means no points means a plummet.

Doesn't take away from the fact that we are blighted by injuries, which of course is the primary problem. We're a bit 'all or nothing' with the squad we have. We look to have nothing atm.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

I think I read that this is our worst season for injuries for decades. To be honest we had it coming, in the 11 years we have been in the PL we have been quite lucky you can't keep dodging that bullet and this season we haven't. I think the board became complacent about squad depth.

How many seasons did we rely on Wilf to dig us out of trouble but we were fortunate that he never had a serious long term injury if he had I suspect we would have gone down.

This season pretty much all of our key players have had time out the reasons need to be looked at but other teams have also had problems, Newcastle for example.

Anyway I hope this is a wakeup call to the board you can't rely on a couple of key players remaining injury free.

If Mr Hodgson was still in situ and the results mirrored that of the 'Glasner era', he would have pilloried with the focus on him rather than the depth of the squad.

I'm not sure what that post is trying to achieve Willo? Any manger would be 'pilloried' after the run we've had however the one in situ has only been so for a short period, with unanimous acknowledgement of the state of the squad. A very different scenario to that we saw with Roy.

Tbh, that's the equivalent of City losing Ederson, Stones, Rhodri, Bernardo, De Bruyne and Haaland. Would they be the same? City can barely win without Rhodri. Our best players are all out injured or have been at one time or other. A fully fit squad or close to that and we win a lot more games.

However, Glasner putting Ozoh at LCB was an awful decision. Lerma was doing fine there and there was no need to change a back line that was comfortable. Eze/Hughes/Ayew were wasteful in the first half, we would have been out of sight by half time had they picked the right passes. In the end, we got punished.

What I attempted to articulate is that the discussion has gallivanted down the 'Squad' alley whereas in the era of 'Mr Hodgson' somehow he was the 'Lightning Rod' for criticism even though he was constrained by squad depth as is Glasner at the present time.

Only last night I was whimpering to my dear wife about our squad before the game had commenced. She has heard all of this before !
