It’s not speculation it’s just made up garbage from Willo so that he can ‘contribute’. There was NO bloke in his local talking at the top of his voice about Glasner the other day, neither has he been contacted by a plethora of people to discuss Glasners position should we be relegated.

The comments and posts are about as worthwhile as saying Palace could potentially be in the market for another centre back should Guehi or Andersen leave

With the greatest of respect this is a work of fiction and hogwash to boot.

I see the two situations as very different.

Hodgson seemed to be pushing the medical and fitness team to say Olise could play a part. He then brings him on at half time presumably with the intention of trying to get something out of a game we were clearly going to lose.

Glasner seems to have been happy to wait until the medical and fitness team said that Olise could play a cameo. There was no evidence of him pushing to have the player back before he was ready. Olise comes on in the 74th minute (yes in a game we were going to lose but as part of his returning to full match fitness - not to try and change the game).

Two very different scenarios IMO.

That is pure speculation on your part.

I'm a confident that Roy would have consulted the medical staff before introducing Olise, just like Glasner did.

You are bending the narrative to fit your position.

Glasner also had the advantage of once bitten. After Olise's immediate breakdown last time, I expect an ultra cautious approach was decided upon.

Even Roy himself talked about being warned about managing Olise's return and when he got injured against Brentford there were rumours Roy had been warned repeatedly not to play him so much. The fact he repeated the mistake at Brighton is what makes it all the more frustrating. You can't compare it with Olise coming on for 15/20 minutes on Saturday. That's the type of reintroduction that every team does. Also, it's far too early to start comparing a manager with 5 years at the club with one who has had five games.

I was as big a Hodgson supporter as any on here but any faith I had in him went after that Olise substitution at Brighton. The fact that Olise only lasted around ten minutes suggests that the player had not recovered sufficiently from injury. Then it became something of a blame game between Roy and the medical team.

Of course there were lessons learned after that and hence a more carefully managed approach this time - but the situations are not the same for that very reason.

The medical team might have urged caution, but I'm sure that Roy would not use a player who was not presumed to be capable of playing some minutes. It is not an exact science.

The key point here is that the second time around, more caution was used for obvious reasons.

One really can frame this stuff however they like.

What actually matters is that Olise continues to stay fit, because we are going to need him for any chance of staying up.

It's hard not to disagree with that. As much as I was fed up with Roy if Olise had stayed fit I think Roy would still be in charge as he was almost winning games on his own when fit.

Only when playing alongside Eze. They are like 3 top class players. Wilder described them, in combination, as "unplayable". After Doucoure's injury, their combo absence has been the biggest loss to our season.

Chris Sutton now suggesting that even Man City would struggle with our run of games and would not be at all surprised if this is the season we bid farewell to the Premier League!!
We surely have got to prove him wrong, haven't we ??

while I'm very concerned about our situation, Chris Sutton is a horses arse, soundbites merchant.
We should target the west ham & wolves games as finals
plus fulham & toon blow hot n cold, so points to be had.

Chris Sutton says we’re screwed, the bookies say we’re 20-1 to go down. The answer is probably somewhere in the middle.

He will be patting himself on the back after Sunday as, of course, we will lose and the other teams below us pick points. I can see us slipping down a place and the odds slipping. West Ham will then be a very difficult game as we will still have only a makeshift defence. However, with returning players and the Glasner effect, the last 4 games should see a win and a couple of draws and see us through, even if we are 17th.
