Perhaps they don't want to add fuel to the fire? Provide more column inches to meedjia desperate to have something to write about ? I expect we are just hoping that the story dies a death & everyone moves on to the next transfer story of the day.

I don't trust are owners not to grab the cash, clause or not, and not reinvest the profit in the team.

seeming as a contract essentially represents the worth of a player to a club, then for us to offer him an extension on bigger terms there must have been a shift in the release clause if it remained. with the current market prices if the clause did remain it wouldnt have been unreasonable for the £35m to almost doubled if it is still there. i have no more info than anybody else, but i cant for one minute believe it stayed in the new contract at £35m.

He did have a clause when first signing and now has signed a new deal which did not have one in.

I would believe him above any Journo I would believe Trump above any Journo , Having said that If the clause was removed you would imagine that he would have negotiated a pay raise and that didn't happen . Also if there was a release clause of 35mill why haven't Chelsea bought him already ? its all a load of bollix if you ask me , same with Eze rumors just the press trying to make themselves relevant
