Obviously I hit a nerve... If you have been a fan for 30 years...as others with more intelligence and wisdom have already stated... the improvements made over 30 years are evident and you should be bloody thankful for how far the club has come. Call me what you like you witless clod, I'm not delusional nor thankless for the position this club is in.

Parish/Dougie/any shareholder you wish to vilify...may not be fourth coming with the pennies but they have been successful in keeping us in the the Premier league and have made some great signings in Olise, Eze, Guehi, SJ, Anderson, Doucoure. I couldn't imagine a team like that over over 10 years ago. With 3 in the England squad, 1 touted for the French squad, Richards in the US squad. If you really loath the club that much, go somewhere else.

Mate you are a serious plum..!!

Did you notice the difference in our performances at the backend of the season - to the turgid performances prior to Roy and Ray taking over..!!

You don’t have CV’s like Roy’s and Ray’s - unless you have something about you - plus they are Palace through and through - which is something I strongly suspect you are not..!!

Not bothered about the style if you win games. Just because they did well end of last season doesn’t mean it will happen for a full season. They had much easier games too. There cvs aren’t that great let’s be honest to manager since the 80s not won a single trophy worthy of recognition and barely achieved anything. If I had gone on for as long as they have and won nothing and had the career they have had with virtually achieving nothing worth noting I’d say I failed. Interim success doesn’t usually get repeated when they become permanent manager. It’s evident in a lot of circumstances

Agree with this. Seen people get booted for less a while back.

Did you not watch any of those games? Probably the best football we played all season.

As others have said some of us lived though truly awful periods in Palace history. We look at todays team as the best we have ever seen.

When I started going we had two relegations on the trot. The support we had in the old div 3 was exceptional. All this we should be winning this and that is BS.

I had been following Palace for 25 years before we had a Wembley appearance. Never thought I would ever see us play there.................

And I've said this before but still not seen you post a single positive thing about Palace. Strange if you are actually a Palace fan.

I said I’m not bothered about style of play. As long as we win games that’s not my point. Under Hodgson we weren’t winning games that we should have been the first time around. The only reason we won them games is the fact that 1 The players were excited to play under him ( all that effect will wear of by November) 2. They were against teams we should be beating. 3 over half the teams we played had a bad game and would have beaten us any other day. I had enough of vieira but even he would have won them games. We’re talking about a manager here that half of the pepole on this site suck up to but more than likely will want him out by November. Not only will we not do well in the league and cup but our young players will be neglected. The reason I haven’t posted a single positive thing is cause there isn’t. We’re going backwards. Brainwashed by an owner that is no different from the likes of Karl oyston , mike Ashley etc. Only some of you lot will only wake up when we have gone down. You’re burying your heads in the sand if you think bringing Hodgson back is a good thing.

I don't wish to embolden you, but it did pass my mind that Parish couldn't get anyone else. His history with managers isn't too clever, and the lack of a substantial transfer kitty is bound to put some off. Therefore Roy appears a logical signing, as he has proven that he can work within a tight budget.
You are a bit presumptuous to say that Roy will take us down as the season hasn't even started yet, our squad looks reasonably decent, and the results and style of play when Roy took over last season were positive.

Modern forum software is fairly cheap but the problem is the time needed to customize and maintain it.

I think the reason that you haven't posted a single positive thing is because you can't see beyond your own point of view. And your school of thought doesn't enable you to see the bigger pictures.

So far I can see that you don't like Hodgson, Parish and now Vieira. So ;

1. Hodgson. I think the majority on here, far from sucking up to him, appreciate his strengths but are concerned that we have been unable to identify another longer term option. Roy makes sense if - as many of us suspect - there is little money available for new players. He rejuvenated a group of players that were clearly becoming increasingly unhappy under Vieira. He may well have had a similar record to Vieira against those teams, but the performances were far more convincing. You present your thoughts such as your references to November as facts but they are just your opinions that are not supported by any evidence whatsoever.

2. Parish. Your comparisons to Oyston and Ashley are quite ridiculous. Oyston was found to have asset stripped Blackpool - there is no evidence that Parish is or has done that. Ashley actually underwrote some expensive player acquisitions at Newcastle but left the infrastructure around the club to rot. So almost the polar opposite to Parish.

Nobody's perfect, but the FACTS are that we are entering our 11th consecutive season in the Premier League. We have reached an FA Cup Final. The training facilities and Academy stand comparison with other Premier League clubs.

Sometimes in business, for many reasons, you have to 'buy time ' and Roy's return smacks of that.

3. Vieira. Another one on your hit list. Again, it's opinion that he may have achieved similar results to Hodgson had he been allowed to continue. But the FACT is we'll never know. Parish attracted critisism for sacking Vieira but I recall he was also critisised when he left Pardew in the job too long. Understand that these decisions, as CEO of a multi million pound business, are not taken lightly.

Finally, you say that young players have been neglected. Can you name me players that you think should have made it into our first team and have had to go elsewhere to be successful at Premier League level ?

There would be no need, if the moderators weeded out the obvious trolls. This particular chap has joined and insulted a number of posters, who disagreed with views. He keeps repeating the same old nonsense on a number of threads, only got a yellow flag so far a red shouldn’t be far away.
