Yes, please see my comment re Zaha above. The service is not forthcoming as he is on the selfish side, in addition to which he has never been able to cross. On the contrary, I was mighty impressed by Ayew who upon receiving the ball immediately whipped a cross into the danger zone from which Edouard scored with a typical striker's finish.

2 in 2 now - if he makes it 3 in 3, he'll almost be a legend.

Got a chance and he took it! If that goal had been disallowed I'd be absolutely screwing. Can't stand it when they're ultra-scrutinising the minimal detail of an offside call. I don't think debating whether a player was or wasn't a millimetre onside was in the spirit of the original intentions of the rule.

Did he get another chance in the game? I can't remember any. Wilf managed to miss-hit at least three chances. In general I don't have a problem with any of our forwards being selfish, but there does come a point when if you've fluffed the first two you should perhaps get your head up and see if someone else is better positioned for a go.

Legend status requires 4 in 4 then?

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

It doesn't require much with our record of Premier League strikers. Around 10 and we'll be raving.

Edouard headed the ball down which made it more difficult for Meslier.Had he not done so it would have made it much easier for the keeper to make the safe.
Certainly not good defending from Leeds with their players running back and facing their goal when the ball was delivered.

Plus of course the very low bright sunshine.

The ever hard working Ayew drew the foul for Olise's excellent delivery

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

In a strange way var means you celebrate a goal twice

In my head, I immdediately cheer, then sit down and think about what VAR is going to come up with.

So I would rather not have VAR to be honest. Not for marginal offsides anyway.

It is a long time since a Palace centre forward got a couple of goals from in and around the 6yard box.
Last one was probably Murray so let's hope he can keep it up and keep Mateta on his toes as well!

I like him but think he'd be better deployed slightly deeper where he can run with the ball but with Wilf, Eze & Olise doing that he has to lead the line. Being able to change him and Mateta does provide a different option up front.
