By the way we are on Germany’s red list for travel.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Remain or leave all seems a little academic now as the result is clearly not something that will be revisited for a good few years. My favourite comedy characters of the piece though are those 'expats' living in Spain who voted to leave the EU and were positively stunned when some of them then had to return home.

They had the option of staying for 6 months under the old system but this is now restricted to 90 days out of a 180 day period. Even then though there is the option of an extended stay visa however you have to apply to the local Police and sign into the country and out again. It becomes overly complex and the local Police aren't keen on having their time taken up with this admin. To be fair places like Tenerife recognise the importance to their economy of the Brits and are currently looking at a way to appease the Swallows within their part of the Schengen territories with a paid visa. Not sure as yet whether it will be forthcoming or how much it will be.

I think when you compare their residency process to ours e.g. free and quick we have nothing to be ashamed of. As to the ex Pats to be honest I don't care surely part of moving to a foreign country is to get away from the UK they seem to want it both ways, it's the risk you take when you move abroad.
