Hello, wondering if anyone can help me out here. My grandad's brother played for Palace in the 30's-40's and I am looking for info on him if possible, been trying online and cant find anything. His name was Joe Murphy and came from Waterford. Not sure about whether he was a first team player or not but I am told that he played for palace around then and returned home around wartime. Any info at all no matter how small would be greatly appreciated. ps. hope you spank those mancs tonight! WB76

Mancs duly spanked! According to Palace complete record:- Joseph Patrick Murphy b. 30th March 1924 in Waterford was at Palace (from Sherborne) from Feb 1949 to Jul 1952 (more likely than 1957)played 38 games, no goals, before being transferred to Bedford Town. Good luck with the family history.
