just reading these posts brings back the memories. certainly that game against the scousers in 1990. the bbc had the game on early, i think they assumed we would get stuffed and we had earlier in the season 9-0 and 2-0 at home. that 2nd half was one of THE best moments of supporting our club, brights goal, then o'reilly and then gray, the scousers were shell shocked, we never gave up, it was a phenomenal ending when pardew put the ball in the scousers net
i also enjoyed the last twenty minutes of our play off final, when hopkin scored, palace just sang for twenty minutes non stop, doesn't sound much, (but it did) but when your there.....................

and it's goodnight from me.......

1)The 89 playoff win over Blackburn
2)The Villa Park experience Gray 3-3 and then it seemed i had no voice left for super Als Goal.
3)Armstrongs Lob in the cup semi vs Mancs i can be seen as he reels away!
4)Wrightys goal from the bench in Final
5)Derby at home our first premiership win at home in 97/98 season (strange but sheer delight!)just look on the goals video and see Matty Jansen and co go mental.

Too many to mention but i have covered some amazing games!

Stangely for me it was Palace v Derby in 1994.

The game finished one-all but it was Dean Gordon's thunderbolt from the corner of the area in injury time.

I sit in the whitehorse and I sat directly looking at the flightpath of the goal, if the net hadn't have been there, I would have got it in the face!

I went absolutly f***ing loopy!!! Quality goal

Although my best "mute" mental moment was the Play-Off semi final when Powell stuck it in the net, I was watching it round a mates house, but his gf was ill and asleep in the room next door, so I jumped around the room without screaming!!

Feeling completely distraght watching us lose at Coventry and then hearing Brian Deane had scored against Wigan. My neighbours must have thought I was a complete Psycho ! It took a minute to sink in and then we all lost it. Thanks Brian !!

Yep, has to be the first one for me, Villa Park 1990, had gone to get a couple of hotdogs at half time and there was quite a queue, so I missed the kick off. We equalized as I was squeezing between people on the way down to the corner flag, the hot dogs got chucked, sauce went everywhere, and I finally got to my position and met up with my dad looking like an extra from Saving Private Ryan!!

Semi at Sunderland - ended up on the floor of the row in front, shins bruised and cut from the seat in front. Fantastic!! That day has got to double as one of the best sickies I ever chucked as well.

Reading this thread, and remembering so many great moments has cheered me right up this morning, as a slumped in my desk for another day of monotonous toil!

Games I was at (in no particular order):
Villa Park
Stockport
Play-Off final v Blackburn at SP
Cardiff
Wembley FA Cup Final
Coventry when we heard the Spammers had equalised

Games I watched on TV:
Hopkin looking to curl one (my brother & I went completely berzerk in a pub in Aviemore shocking the locals out of their reverie)
Powell & Hughsie at Sunderland (went berzerk in my front room, picking my missus up and squeezing the breath out of her then swinging my daughter around the room narrowly missing various ornaments and heirlooms)

I think the Stockport game was possibly where I felt the most emotion. I really thought we were doomed and for Dougie to score the way he did, then to have to wait for the Birmingham game to finish, the relief of tension was so great and I was so happy, I'm not ashamed to admit I blubbed like a great big baby.

But this thread has brought back some great memories, so thanks Palace for all those moments of sheer joy! We've had our fair share of misery as well, but those just go to make the good times even better. Imagine supporting manure or the ar*e - winning the league or cup (again, yawn yawn) wouldn't compare with our "minor" glories over the years because they're so used to success it becomes meaningless. For us, who've been through so much dispair over the years, even avoiding relegation can feel better than winning the Champions league would to an armchair gloryhunter!

Semi at Sunderland for me; both Darren's equaliser and Michael Hughes's penalty - both mental moments. Was listening to it in the kitchen on BBC London. Spent 90 minutes pacing up and down, not able to speak to anyone, after Jules was sent off and the clock ticked down, got more and more stressed and despondent. Then that goal. Extra time and penalties. Saved penalties, missed penalties and then Hughsey and Cardiff!! Was leaping around the kitchen like a demented dervish, so excited I even nearly kissed the wife!!!
So many ups and downs that night that I aged at least 20 years! (but at laest I know my hearts OK - must be to survive that night!)

PS: Love to see the crying Mackems on the replay, almost as good as the crying Hammers at Cardiff!

Also the Sunderland semi for me- but the first leg at Selhurst.

Was sitting in my union in Middlesbrough surrounded by Mackems saying how we'd "got no chance" and how we'd got "no right to be there as we'd get thumped every week in the top flight". Idiots.

Shipps' equaliser was met with me leaping a good 3 feet off the floor shouting like a deranged madman, before turning to said Mackems and giving them a right mouthful of abuse. Boy it was good. And we won. I was a hated man for the next two weeks
