Rename the thread, it's CSE time next !

Two million GCSE grades recommended by teachers are to be downgraded next week, with disadvantaged pupils even worse hit than those affected by the A-levels debacle, according to analysis from leading researchers.

Thousands of headteachers have called for urgent action to avoid “serious injustices” that could blight the life chances of their pupils, after exams were cancelled because of coronavirus and the results consequently being decided by an algorithm that has been condemned as unfair.

Just waiting for the 'peaceful' protests joined by blm and antifa and gretas mob.
Give every student the highest mark possible then in the future every employer will know 2020 kids ain't worth a w***. Very logical.

Apparently, Dominic Raab has been downgraded to Dominic Rbcc.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

One thing that hasn't been publicised too much is that the Teachers themselves predicted grades that were way too high overall.
They share the blame on this but the media are leaving them alone!
Just saying.

The issue is simple. It is about relative success. If all teachers overpredicted, and by the same amount, there would not be a problem. Self evidently.

It's getting so bad that Gavin Williamson in A-Level Music has downgraded ABBA to ACDC

Apparently the algorithm mainly works that if a school were getting a certain percentage in each exam grade in a subject then that is the percentage this year that get that grade. From that it suggests those that usually peak at exam time have lost out and those who don’t do as well have had a bit of a result. We hear about those who’ve been downgraded but not from those who must’ve been upgraded.

The whole year was botched up, so they may as well have just gone with the teachers grade predictions. Talk about creating a problem.

You are not wrong Bluejay - not wrong at all!I
The little live would be happy that they were super intelligent even though that hadn't taken an exam and Boris would have been praised - orange not because now he would be accused of dumbing down education!
Still - it would probably have been the easiest solution.

The easiest solution isnt always the correct solution. I understand what blue is saying but surely if the teachers results were given; once these kids get to uni or work they will be found out big time. Then the kick back wont be at the teachers, I think it can be guessed who it will come to. I also think it somewhat shows that boris isnt going to be the pushover he is being portrayed as. Conviction is stuck by and appeals are being offered for free. Maybe some of these kids will take stock and realise their grade is what they themselves were actually expecting and they are being driven by the media circus and mummy and daddy thinking their little cherub is the next einstein.
