I am still mostly certain this is a joke that has snowballed somewhat. If I was to assume it might happen, which actually nearly melts my brain it's so bizarre, then I think irrespective of the fact it would save the club, I would have serious reservations about our identity. I would love it if it stopped at galvanizing the local community, clearing our debts and making us competitive, but you have to worry about the club being at the behest of a millionaire playboy with a big ego (erm, I mean another one) . That said, he is a very astute businessman and there is no telling what the approach might be. As with most things, it is probably easier to judge people's intentions by their actions. Modern football is already sickening in many ways and whatever happens, no-one can tell me that the way things are at Palace now is any better - the stadium is less than half full and a growing percentage are utter morons. Change isn't necessarily for the better, but saving going out of business totally, things would struggle to get any worse. Now coming back to reality - this story is mental. fair point Hambo, but look at Fulham under Al Fayed - someone on paper you would instinctively say no way. But he is a good businessman and his team have grown to the point where they're now in the 1/4 finals of the europa league. At the very least, if he's interested then we should listen to what he has to say. Guilfoyle and P Daddy - unreal!
Very good point, Al-Fayed has been fantastic for Fulham against most people's initial opinion - It emphasises that judging someone by their actions rather than preconceptions is the way forward. I would still be apprehensive if this ridiculous story ended up being true, but I would be more than happy to give any owner the chance to prove that they are there for the benefit of the club.
I know you are but what am I? |

Agree with nearly all your post, and don't want to go off topic but..... 'RN allowing Liverpool into Europe'????? Do you think he stood a chance in hell in over turning that ruling? If you do then you want to point the blame at us Palace fans around then too, because we hardly did anything either in terms of protesting - why? Because it was pointless: we knew no one would listen! It was our right though And I choose to be bitter about it
I'm still bitter too mate.

This post I have to agree with. Spot on! - Cant agree more! I along with everybody else on here want Palace to survive. I cant think of anything worse than my club that i love not existing! - Bad results/relegation/bad cup runs - all things we can live with and moan about but to simply not be is not an option.

I would also willingly fly to New York to meet P Diddy. Let's face it, who wouldn't? I could do with a holiday, too. It's a brilliant story, but if P Diddy buys Palace I will (willingly) stand on the bar at the Whitehorse and shave my arse. Bring him on, I say, but only in a too-surreal-for-words way.
